paper's quality of journalism with the new tag line "Tells
it like it is".
The campaign features the six tenets of journalism, "who,
what, where, why, when and how" captioned over photographs
of high-profile people who have appeared in the news in The
Standard. They include China's Premier Wen Jiabao, the HKSAR
Chief Executive Donald Tsang, tycoons Stanley Ho and Richard

Overwhelming
Response to "Short Story Competition 2005" Co-hosted by The Standard
and RTHK
The Standard has co-organized a short story competition with RTHK
3. This year's theme is "A Breath of Fresh Air". The competition
is divided into junior and senior sections with the aim of promoting
creativity, originality and high standards in English writing.
The competition received tremendous response from members of the
public. We collected almost 1,000 entries.
The prize presentation ceremony was held on December 12 in Central.
Award winners received book vouchers, selected books and a consultation
with the editor of a well-known book publishing company. Their articles
may also be published in the Weekend Standard magazine and Student

The
Standard's Corporate Book Project a Success
The
Standard Advertising Department, already widely recognized in the
Hong Kong business community for its "Hong Kong IPO Guide 2004",
"Macau Review" and other corporate guides, outdid itself with the
publication of the 50th Anniversary book for the K. Wah Group.
The book, "Fifty Years of Excellence," not only traced the development
of the K. Wah company since the 1950s, but also showcased how Hong
Kong evolved during the last five decades, incorporating the gradual
changes from the business modes of heavy industry to tourism and
banking and finance, which shaped historic changes for both K. Wah
and Hong Kong.
More importantly, the book indicates that K. Wah's pathway to success
was its faith in the resilience of Hong Kong people, and the belief
that Hong Kong would always bounce back from calamities and go on
to greater strength and success.
Following its success with the K. Wah book, The Standard's Advertising
Department is now embarking on other corporate book projects.
