The Standard's Brand Campaign Attracts Media Coverage
During
the recent WTO ministerial meeting held in Hong Kong, The
Standard chartered a traditional junk to cruise outside the
Convention Centre carrying the banner - "When will the poor
start getting richer?" printed on blue sails. The junk's sail
was part of The Standard's 2005 multimedia brand campaign,
based on the six questions every journalist should ask to
get the full story - Who, What, Where, Why, When and How.
A pioneering promotion format, "The Standard Junk" sailed
for two weeks in December and January, and attracted a great
deal of publicity. Apart from appearing in trade and mainstream
print publications, the junk was shown on BBC World news.
Most impressively, Pascal Lamy, WTO Director General, featured
a photograph of the junk along with its banner on the WTO
website to demonstrate the mission of the organization.
