LOTY 2005 Celebrates
Hong Kong's Leadership

Leader of the Year (LOTY) is an annual event held since 1994 to
recognize and appreciate those leaders who have made remarkable
contributions to the success and development of Hong Kong, and to
establish role models in inspiring the next generation of talents
and leaders. Celebrating its 12th anniversary this year, the award
presentation ceremony was officiated by The Honourable Donald Tsang,
Chief Executive of the HKSAR, and Mr. Charles Ho, Chairman of Sing
Tao News Corporation Limited. Award presenters included Mr. Rafael
Hui, Mr. Charles Lee, Mr. Ronald Arculli, Dr. Alice Lam and Mr.
Zheng Kang Zhao.
The panel of judges chaired by Mr. Norman Chan selected leaders
for 5 categories. Dr. David Li and Mr. Michael Ying won the award
in the Finance and Business category, respectively, for their outstanding
roles in Hong Kong's business community. The honour in the Community/Public
Affairs category went to Dr. Allan Zeman, for his creativity and
vision which contributed to Ocean Park success. The winner in the
Education/Research category was Professor Samuel Sun, who was recognized
for his effort in biotechnology research. Ms. Yu Chui-yee, wheelchair
fencing international gold medalist, won the award in the Sports/Culture/Performing
Arts category for her accomplishments in the sports arena.

Readership Tops Free Newspaper Market
According
to the Hong Kong Audit Bureau of Circulation, in the first quarter
of 2006, Headline Daily's average daily circulation exceeds 600,000
copies, surpassing its competitors by a large margin and is evidently
Hong Kong's No. 1 free newspaper, with the largest distribution
network. In terms of content, Headline Daily has enhanced its news
and entertainment sections, with reputable columnists contributing
to provide exclusive and insightful analyses.

Express Post Expands Distribution
Network

The
only free weekend newspaper in Hong Kong, Express Post,
has been well-received by its readers and advertisers
for its comprehensive guide on weekend consumption as
well as succinct reporting on local news, finance and
property news and infotainment. To better serve the needs
of readers, Express Post has further expanded its distribution
network. Apart from distributing at MTR stations on Saturday
morning, Express Post is also distributed at residential
estates and is available in the afternoon between 1pm-3pm
at 14 shopping hubs and 11 selected MTR stations. In addition,
Express Post will continue to launch marketing activities
such as the recent "Egg Chop Redemption Program",
which was met with tremendous response.

Revamp of Sing Tao Daily - District Post
The revamped Sing Tao Daily - District Post was recently
launched with a new look in tabloid format. With content tailored
to each "district", the 5 district editions, namely
Hong Kong Island, Kowloon East, Kowloon West, New Territories
East and New Territories West, are distributed every Friday
at over 600 residential estates, providing an effective advertising
platform for advertisers.

Sing Tao Daily Rolls Out a Series of Activities

To commemorate Investment Weekly's 2nd anniversary, a "Celebrities
Investment Booklet II" was published, and a joint promotion
was held with Sing Tao Daily Finance to offer shares in Bank
of China's IPO.
The grand final of the "21st Sing Tao Inter-School Debating
Competition", jointly organized by Sing Tao Daily, The
Standard and the Education and Manpower Bureau, was held on
May 5 at Queen Elizabeth Stadium. The event was attended by
over 2,000 students, teachers and parents, and was officiated
by Mrs. Fanny Law, Permanent Secretary for Education and Manpower
Bureau. The panel of judges comprised Mr. Alan Leong, Ms.
Audrey Eu, Mr. Alex Shiu and Ms. Claudia Mo. A VCD featuring
the highlights of the competition and speeches by the panel
of judges was made available for redemption, and met with
overwhelming response.
In conjunction with the FIFA World Cup, Sing Tao Daily offered
special privileges to readers including "World Cup Booklet",
which was bundled with the paper, together with "World
Cup Soccer Player Inflatable Tumble Set", "World
Cup Puzzle Chess" and "World Cup Classic Photos

The
Standard Launches "The Standard Money" and "Goodies"
The
Standard has launched a new weekly investment guide "The Standard
Money" which includes investment tips, analysis and commentaries,
as well as a recap on the previous week's important events, to allow
readers to get prepared for their investment. "The Standard
Money" also offers Dartboard challenge, inviting readers to
prove their investment acumen by facing off against Lucky, The Standard
Tiger, in winning fabulous prizes. In addition, The Student Standard
launched "Goodies" on April 26, a tailor-made publication
for primary students, covering interesting English learning topics,
articles, games and giving out gifts.

The
Standard supplements - "The Standard Money", "Property
Standard", "Leisure Standard" as well as other magazines
- are now available at more than 270 high-traffic locations such
as commercial buildings, middle to high-income residential estates,

business centers. Furthermore, in conjunction with the World Cup

Strong
Readership Boost at East Week and PC Market
According
to Nielsen Media Research, East Week's readership has increased
from 230,000 to 333,000 within the past two years, making it
ranks 3rd out of the local magazines. PC Market has also maintained
a steady growth in readership, which led it to be the most popular
digital and computer magazine in town, and further reinforced
its leading position in the market. |

The
2nd "Quality Living Award Hong Kong" Award Presentation
Ceremony, organized by East Week, was held on April 25 to

New Initiatives

East TOUCH's first major event in 2006, "GROOVISIONS
HKG" exhibition, was held on April 4-23 at Hong Kong
Arts Centre. This is the first Asian exhibition for GROOVISIONS
outside Japan, where GROOVISIONS collections over the past
ten years were displayed. The exhibition received overwhelming
response and attracted approximately 7,000 visitors, including
pop stars and famous designers.

Sing
Tao News Corporation Reports Final Results for 2005
Sing Tao News Corporation Limited announced its annual
results on 18 April and reported a net profit attributable
to shareholders of HK$220.8 million, compared with HK$0.8
million last year. The Group declared a final dividend
of HK0.5 cents per share and a special final dividend
of HK1 cent per share for the year. In 2005, The Group's
Media operations delivered robust performance with a
positive momentum, and took on new ventures in the media
business to pave the way for the Group's longer term
growth and expansion. The Group also made its foray
into the free newspaper market through the launch of
Headline Daily and Express Post, and their financial
performance had been exceeded our expectations. In terms
of readership, Sing Tao Daily achieved a double-digit
growth. Advertising revenue registered a major increase,
in particular in property advertising where it surpassed
its competitors by a large margin. The Group's Magazine
business has also begun to bear fruit, with East Week
reported healthy growth on both the advertising and
