Headline Daily Celebrates 2nd Anniversary and Initiates "Readers' polling campaign"

July marks the second anniversary of the launch of Headline Daily. Not only is Headline Daily highly acclaimed by advertisers, its readership is also expanding. According to the survey by Oracle Added Value Limited, its readership and circulation are ahead of competitors by a considerable margin. The number of readers has surpassed 1,550,000 and the average daily circulation has exceeded 700,000 copies. Its readers are also of the highest quality among free newspapers in Hong Kong. They consist of professionals, management and businessmen, as well as high-income group (household income of over $50,000 per month or individual monthly income of over $30,000). The Standard Goes Free

With an initial daily circulation of 120,000 copies from Monday to Saturday, The Standard becomes Hong Kong's largest circulating English-language daily newspaper in Hong Kong. Circulation will be fully audited, guaranteeing advertisers the widest English newspaper audience. The new business model has received generally positive response in the media market.

The Standard/ RTHK Co-organizes "Short Story Competition 2007"

The Standard joined hands with RTHK to organize the "Short Story Competition 2007" again this year. "TOUCH BOX", the first magazine vending machine in Hong Kong, pioneered by East TOUCH has been installed in 11 California Red Karaoke Box. East TOUCH sold via the vending machines is accompanied by exclusive limited edition trendy gifts. The kick-off ceremony of "TOUCH BOX" took place at YO Park@ Whampoa on July 18. PC Market Unveils Revamped Version

PC Market Participates in "Hong Kong Computer & Communications Festival 2007"

Sing Tao Publishing Thrives at "Hong Kong Book Fair 2007"

Sing Tao Publishing launched a number of books authored by local celebrities, such as "Mother's Handbook" by Che Shuk-Mui, Candy, "Sorry! Sing Tao News Corporation Limited announced its interim results on September 5. The Group's revenue grew by 13.7% to HK$1,065.6 million as compared with the Previous Period. Gross profit improved by 36.7% while net profit manifested a growth of 44.4%.

《JET》舉辦「JET 5th Anniversary 及 JET Icon頒獎典禮」

「星島出版」書展盛況

洛杉磯辦事處於7月31日舉辦「與眾同『洛』十八載報慶晚會」慶祝《星島日報》洛杉磯版18周年報慶,是次晚會出席的賓客逾二百位,場面好不熱鬧。為增添氣氛,除了美酒佳餚外,當晚更設有精彩的表演節目和豐富的大抽獎,一眾賓客都樂在其中,盡興而歸。

由《星島日報》紐約辦事處主辦之「2007國際風箏節」於6月30日舉行,香港駐紐約經濟貿易辦事處處長陳美嘉及紐約州眾議員楊愛倫於開幕禮中放飛中國巨型龍風箏,以慶祝香港回歸10周年;而近萬名市民亦將色彩鮮艷的風箏放上天空,場面極為壯觀。

星島新聞集團於八月一日舉行「長期服務獎頒獎典禮2007」以慶祝《星島日報》六十九周年報慶。本年共有72名員工獲頒發「長期服務獎」,他們皆在公司服務逾十載,而其中一名得獎者胡敬忠先生,更已為集團服務達四十年之久。胡先生於領獎後分享其多年的工作心得:「我認為工作最重要是全情投入,一心一意,這樣便會覺得快樂,做得長久。」而集團行政總裁盧永雄先生在典禮中說:「能夠像《星島日報》一樣歷經數十載而迄立不倒的報章在香港並不多,公司有賴大家的努力,才能得到今日的成績,希望各位繼續努力,再創輝煌。」
