Version Appeals to Quality Readers
Headline Daily, Hong Kong's no.1 free newspaper, instigated its Saturday version
on July 26 with circulation of over 700,000 copies. In addition to
the wide-ranging content similar to the weekday version, it also offers QWalker
covering the hottest and most up-to-date consumer information. According to a readers'
survey conducted in September 2008, 71% of Headline Saturday's readers are consumption
decision-makers, 44% have an average household income of over HK$30,000 and 34% are
professionals, management or businessmen. The survey results illustrate that Headline
Saturday is a publication of choice to quality readers with significant spending power.

Popular Guidebooks
To show appreciation for readers' continued support, Sing Tao Daily has
been dedicating its effort in producing a large collection of reference books
in various subjects for redemption. The eminent "Investment Guide 2008-2009"
launched in October, which provides details of all Main Board listed companies,
as well as a new section "Fundamental Analysis on Stocks Selection", was soon out
of stock. Another popular guidebook "Luxury Property", which embraces information on
home embellishments and the latest luxury properties in Hong Kong, Mainland China and
Macau, was published in December and highly sought-after by home buyers, industry players

Educational and Cultural Events
Captivate Sing Tao's Readers
The "24th Sing Tao Inter-school Debating Competition" has kicked off with a
briefing seminar in November. In view of the overwhelming response, the number of
participating teams has been increased to 172 this year. Mr. Anthony Kwok (Director
of Centaline Training Institute), renowned writer Mr. Nury Vittachi and Mr. Alex Shiu
(Chief Advisor of CUHK Debating Society) were present at the briefing seminar to offer
valuable advice on presentation and debating skills. Last year's winners were also invited
to share their experience with the audience. Not surprisingly, the venue was bursting at
the seams with contestants from different schools seizing the opportunity to equip
themselves for the competition. The first round of the competition has already begun and
the highlights of this exciting contest will be covered in Sing Tao Daily's Education
section.
Besides, Sing Tao Daily and the Education Bureau jointly organized "Parents' Talk on
Admission to Secondary Schools 2009" on December 18. Speakers from the Education Bureau
and Committee on Home-school Co-operation shared their comments with over 1,000 attending
parents on choosing an ideal secondary school, to help children develop their learning and
personal growth.
Also, Sing Tao Daily gave away 100 tickets of the world-renowned Broadway Musical
Cinderella to readers by means of a lucky draw. An even luckier few were given the
chance to go backstage to meet the actors and take photos with them. These exclusive

Sing Tao Overseas Offices Channel Care and
Harmony into Communities
Sing Tao Daily has been committed to a myriad of community and charitable affairs
held locally and overseas. Sing Tao Daily's San Francisco Office sponsored "The 23rd
Longevity Walkathon" organized by Self Help for the Elderly on October 11. A walkathon
team was also formed to give further impetus to the meaningful fundraising event. Over
1,000 people took part in the event and more than US$110,000 was raised for sustaining
the elderly service project of the organization.
Apart from this, "The International Kite Festival 2008" organized by Sing Tao
Daily's New York Office was held on October 18 to promote cultural exchange and
understanding. The event received vast support from overseas Chinese clubs and different
sectors. 3,000 participants of various backgrounds and cultures were fascinated by the
awe-inspiring performance of kite enthusiasts from The American Kitefliers Association and
they were also dazzled by the exhibition and workshop highlighting the craft of
kite-making, as well as the grand lucky draw.

Help Promote The Standard
In the fourth quarter, The Standard continued to run a wide variety of
sponsorship and partnership programmes with different corporations with an
objective of increasing its reach in the business sector and gaining more readers in
the senior management and executive level. These programmes included "The Listed Companies
Conference" organized by Chamber of Hong Kong Listed Companies, "How to sell your company"
held by Baker Tilly International and "The 4th CIO Forum Asia 2008" run by Euro Events.
Meanwhile, The Standard once again acted as the media partner of "30-minutes HR Conference"
organized by HR Magazine, so as to extend its presence in the recruitment sector.
Moreover, "Leveraged Finance Asia 2008" and "CIM HK Marketing Conference", hosted by IFR
Conference and The Chartered Institute of Marketing respectively, were under the auspices
of The Standard with copies of The Standard being made available to the conferences'
delegates.
In September, The Standard joined hands again with British Airways in organizing a
photo competition to give away free air tickets to its readers. British Airways offered
a pair of return tickets to London for the winners who could best snap the essence of any
one of the destinations within the worldwide route network of the British Airways.
Meanwhile, The Standard launched a joint venture promotion with Star Cruises for four weeks
starting from November 13. Winners of the Q&A Contest were able to indulge in a one-night
cruise on SuperStar Aquarius.

special Macau edition last year. On October 23-26, Sing Tao Magazine Group participated
in the "Macau Media Expo" held at The Venetian Macao where it distributed 6 titles of the

700th Issue
To celebrate the publication of its 700th issue in October, East TOUCH hosted the
"TOUCH 700 + Exhibition" at LCX Harbour City in Tsim Sha Tsui from November 24-30. The

Sing Tao Publishing Launches New Books
Sing Tao Publishing was invited by Senior Citizen Home Safety Association
to co-publish "The Salt I Eat More Than The Rice You Dine" which aims at conveying
a sense of optimism through the positive life stories of the elderly from different
backgrounds. The proceeds of the books will be used to fund the Personal Emergency
Link Service for elderly citizens in Hong Kong.
Meanwhile, to coincide with the screening of the film "Legendary Assassin",
Sing Tao Publishing in conjunction with Gold Label Typhoon put out a novel adapted
from the film. Also, as many people were impressed by the charisma and persuasive
power of Obama while the U.S Presidential Election took place in November, Sing Tao
Publishing collaborated with The Student Standard and issued "Learning English through
President's Speech" for redemption, allowing readers to learn from Obama's sterling
presentation techniques. The book was well-received by primary and secondary school
students and teachers. At the same time, Sing Tao Publishing and EGL Tour joined hands
in publishing a travel guide titled "Travel Malaysia with Ease", introducing famous
tourist attractions like Langkawi, Penang and Kuala Lumper. The book redemption programme
