"The 26th Sing Tao Inter-School Debating Competition" Draws Great Interest
"The 26th Sing Tao Inter-School Debating Competition", jointly organized by Sing Tao Daily, The Standard and the Education Bureau, and sponsored by the Standing Committee on Language Education and Research and Centaline Property Agency Limited, has got started. This year, the number of participating teams has reached another record high, including 124 schools in the Chinese section and 56 schools in the English section. The competition has commenced in November and will continue on for six months.
To encourage active participation from students and the public and to create more learning opportunities, the competition will present the "Most Improved School Award" and "Best Motion Award". An education seminar will be held in January 2011 to provide a forum for sharing debating skills and experience. Headline Daily Reaches New Heights
Headline Daily, Hong Kong's no. 1 free newspaper, reached a new record of 1,653,000 readership, according to Synovate Media Atlas Survey (2009 Q4 to 2010 Q3), ahead of any other newspaper in Hong Kong. In addition to being distributed at selected East Rail stations, copies of Headline Daily also became available at all West Rail and Ma On Shan Rail stations starting from October. Smart Parents' Circulation Hits Record
Launched by Sing Tao Daily in March, Smart Parents has become a must-read for many parents. According to HKABC, average circulation per issue in July to September has reached 74,744 copies, an 18% increase when compared with May to July. Starting from December, readers are invited to become members, who will be entitled to special privileges including priority for redemption of Smart Parents. Sing Tao Daily’s San Francisco Office organized "Sing Tao Expo 2010". 180 exhibitors from various business sectors showcased their products. Over 30,000 participants enjoyed the discounts, giveaways and food samples and took the opportunity to shop. Sing Tao Daily’s New York Office held "The 7th Annual Dragon Boat Festival Photo Contest Award". Winners were selected by Richard E. The Standard Hosts Entertainment and Charity Activities
In this final quarter, The Standard organized various exclusive promotions again for its readers and members. "JET ICON" Award Presentation and JET 100th Issue Celebration
This year, JET presented the "JET ICON" award again to eight icons for their outstanding accomplishments in different aspects. Winners included Shawn Yue, Ivanna Wong, Janice, RubberBand, Chiu Tsang Hei, Hanjin Tan, SK Lam and Derek Kwok. JET also celebrated its 100th issue during the occasion.

HeadlineJobs Releases Latest Quality Workplace Index
The "HeadlineJobs Quality Workplace Index" survey was introduced in 2008 in collaboration with the Public Opinion Programme of the University of Hong Kong. 1,016 employees participated in the survey in the second half of 2010. Results showed that job satisfaction among the post-80's generation was the lowest across all age groups and that they had a rather high intention to change jobs. They ranked "recognition from the management", "salary" and "career advancement opportunity" as the most significant reasons that influenced job satisfaction. |

JobMarket Organizes "JobMarket Recruitment Fair"
Hiring intention of local enterprises continued to rise, particularly in construction, finance and retail sectors. In view of this, JobMarket organized the "JobMarket Recruitment Fair" on September 16 at YMCA of Hong Kong in Tsim Sha Tsui. More than 2,000 frontline vacancies were provided by over 20 enterprises. Some enterprises conducted interviews on site. Besides, talks on successful sales and marketing strategy were also held.
